Summary of evaluation
This evaluation commissioned by the OLSU, examined how far the 'Family Man' and 'Fathers Inside' programmes contributed towards the ‘Skills for Life Strategy’. It found that both programmes support the strategy by focusing on speaking, listening and responding skills and includes details of the percentages of FM & FI course activities that are linked to the national standards for literacy of the Basic Skills Agency.
Project description
'Family Man' and 'Fathers Inside' focus strongly on improving speaking listening and responding skills. The Basic Skills Agency had three priorities linked to raising standards. These were:
Improving speaking and listening skills
Supporting basic skills at transition points
Engaging people disengaged from learning.
