Criminal Justice Alliance

The Criminal Justice Alliance provides the focal point of a network for its members. It disseminates information, organises meetings, and supports its members to work together. International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS)
http://www.prisonstudies.org/The International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS) assists governments and other relevant agencies to develop appropriate policies on prisons and the use of imprisonment and has an academic partnership with the University of Essex.The Centre makes the results of its academic research and projects widely available to groups and individuals, both nationally and internationally. These include policy makers, practitioners and administrators, the media and the general public - such dissemination helps to increase an understanding of the purpose of prison and what can be expected of it. Make Justice Work

The brainchild of criminal justice campaigner, Roma Hooper, (founder of the Prison Radio Association), Make Justice Work is backed by leading experts from the criminal justice system – including former prison governors, charity directors and renowned academics. Prison Reform Trust

Prisoners' Education Trust
http://www.prisonerseducation.org.uk/index.php?id=3Prisoners Education Trust was established in 1989, the brainchild of the two founders, David Burton and Vernon Cocking. They had become disillusioned with the narrow range of classes on offer to prisoners, and with colleagues considered how a broader education could be provided. This led to the charity being founded. Initially working in just Wandsworth prison, then gradually spreading, they now offer access to a grants programme to prisoners throughout England and Wales -the grants programme enables prisoners to study through distance learning. Transition to Adulthood Alliance (T2A)
http://www.t2a.org.uk/The T2A Alliance evidences and promotes effective approaches for young people in the transition to adulthood (16-25 year olds) throughout the criminal justice process. T2A is a coalition of 12 of the leading criminal justice, health and youth organisations, convened by the Barrow Cadbury Trust. Since 2008, the T2A Alliance has produced more than 40 research and policy reports, which support the campaign priorities and recommendations.
Three pilot projects running since 2009, have been testing different approaches to improving services for young adults in the criminal justice system - they are delivering different community interventions all tailored to the needs of individual young adults.
