Evaluation of an arts-based workshop programme aiming to increase participants awareness of their own innate talents and skills, this research project sought to measure the effects of participating in a Talent 4... project on offenders' self -belief in their capacity to gain employment, strengths and weaknesses, ability to work with others, natural skills, competence and aspirations.
Project description
The overall aim of Talent 4....is to help offfenders define professional career choices and thereby increase their employability. This focused on addressing 2 questions:
1. What are my natural abilities?
2.What career of profession are my talents suited to?
The data presented in this report is based on eighteen individuals: six women from HMP Drake Hall; nine men from HMP Sudbury; and three men from HMYOI Brinsford. These eighteen individuals are those for whom data was available at both data collection points. Only partial data was available for a further eight participants and thus their data were not included in the final analysis.

After taking part in a Talent 4... project, participants felt more competent in their ability to find suitable employment in the future, and of their ability to do well at work.
